An Exceptional Pianist

At the age of just five, Rudolf Buchbinder was admitted to the Vienna Academy of Music as its youngest student, and only a few years later he made his first public appearance on stage. From an early age, he demonstrated not only exceptional talent but also the musical maturity that would come to define his career. For decades, Rudolf Buchbinder has shaped the international concert scene as one of the most distinguished pianists of his generation. The music of Ludwig van Beethoven holds a particularly important place in his artistic work. He has performed all 32 piano sonatas in complete cycles more than sixty times around the world, repeatedly setting new standards. For his piano recital in March, he has selected highlights of the Viennese Classical period: With captivating intensity and the finest articulation, Buchbinder will perform, among other works, Schubert’s final sonata and Beethoven’s “Appassionata” in all their emotional depth at the Kammermusiksaal — a vivid dialogue between virtuosity and expressive power.
